Thank You all for allowing me to have this special moment with my son! This is the first hug after 8 long weeks! This hug is a feeling that I never would have gotten if it wasn't for your help! Believe it or not this is the only pic of the two of us from graduation. To me it's the best!!! Thank you again for allowing me to share this special moment with him. He is not only my son, but my best friend! I sent the Coast Guard a boy and they sent me back a young man with an amazingly bright future.

My name is Michelle S and my story starts when I was searching and trying to find a way to attend sons graduation, checking flights and prices that I knew down deep inside I could never afford on my own.

Then I stumbled upon the USCG Moms in Need Fund site.

I applied for help to attend my sons graduation, LIMA-193, in New Jersey. I live in Southern California. There was no way I could've attended on my own and the USCG Moms in Need Fund was my only hope of getting there. The fifth week came, and I received your Congratulations email! The tears of gratefulness and joy just flowed, and from that moment on, everyone who crossed my path knew of the USCG Moms in Need Fund. Everyone. The flight was great with a layover in Chicago which was so much fun. Remember, during this entire trip, I talked about this group, USCG Moms in Need Fund every step of the way!

Graduation was the following day. It was AMAZING! Ryan was one of the Coastie's chosen on the honor guard during the graduation ceremony. You can imagine my pride, especially because I would not have been there without your help.

My Coastie then gave us a full tour of the USCG Facility in Cape May, and he suited me up with Proud Mom USCG shirts, sweatshirts, etc., everything that I proudly wear often.

Everything was wonderful! Thank you! Thank you USCG Moms in Need Fund for making this mother's wish come true.
